Are you reading right?

Are you reading right?

Spoiler it's not about jumping into details but in perception

Books are the most powerful technology invented. Everything that we have accomplished has come from reading, we become what we consume and what we read forms the world we see. The most effective way of learning is to dip your toes into the wisdom of past i.e instead of spending life figuring out of a thing work, just seek out the experience of someone who already used his time to discover that stuff.

The problem.

The way we read shapes what we pay attention to and how we evolve and most of us, unfortunately, are stepping back in our evolution because we are still using the same reading habits that we were taught in schools. The reading we did in school, was just for the reason to memorize our textbooks in order to score well on our exams, but when we are reading in the real world, our mindset cheats us out of knowledge, hence most of us figure out that we aren't able to memorize all we have read and felt we have wasted our time and get discouraged to continues further reading and feels frustrated on the content.

People like these have their realities stuck between black or white, they don't seek for the answers beyond, they only read to find little faults and miss the bigger picture, they dismiss anything beyond their sense of reality.

The solution.

The only filter you ever need while reading is to have to ability to distinguish between what is relevant and what isn't.

Never judge the content prematurely, most of us revisit same literature again to discover the whole new meaning of the same sentence that we didn't understand at first or dismissed thinking we knew.

"A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, but a non-reader lives only once" - George R.R Martin

Always remember the aim of reading is to absorb information to improve and update your existing model of reality rather than modeling your knowledge to fit into it as it is.

thanks for reading ;)
